Who We Are

Conecktin CIC is a community interest company built on a simple idea: people need people. We are a not-for-profit dedicated to tackling loneliness and isolation by creating safe, welcoming spaces where everyone can feel part of something bigger than themselves.

We believe community is more than geography — it’s belonging. We bring together individuals, families, and neighbours who may feel disconnected, offering opportunities to connect through conversation, creativity, and shared experiences.

We are inclusive, open, and rooted in compassion, respect, and creativity. Every activity — whether a coffee morning, an art workshop, or a mindfulness session — is designed to remind people they are seen, valued, and not alone.

Why We Exist

Loneliness and isolation affect millions across the UK. Chronic loneliness has risen in recent years, impacting mental and physical wellbeing. We bridge those gaps — creating welcoming spaces where people can share a meal, talk openly, explore creativity, and build confidence.

By offering social events, creative outlets, and wellbeing activities, we help reduce isolation while promoting mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

Director’s Testimony: Why Conecktin CIC is Needed

I understand isolation on a deeply personal level. Growing up in care meant I never had the security of close family bonds. As an adult, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and became a single parent, facing health, responsibility, and loneliness at the same time.

There were moments of deep despair. I attempted to take my own life, and I know the weight of having no one to list as next of kin. In searching for connection I attended social events, but as a newcomer I was often overlooked — it reinforced the feeling of being on the outside.

Conecktin CIC was born from this lived reality and the determination to create something different: spaces where no one is left standing on the edge. Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, you’ll be welcomed, embraced, and seen. Our focus is genuine connection, friendship, and belonging.
